Baccanalia produced the Bishop Auckland Family Festival, at Jane Armstrong Park, Bishop Auckland. Linking with Bishop Auckland Town Hall’s summer activity programme and the national touring exhibition, Carboniferous Monsters, the family festival was all about ‘100 million years before the dinosaurs.

The event was a fantastic success. Throughout the evening, over 2,000 residents gathered to enjoy the entertainment, culinary delights, and installations created by the pupils of St John's CE Primary School.
Friday 24th - Sunday 26th November 2023
Even bigger than the previous two years, this year's Christmas Town commanded nearly 40,000 visitors to enjoy the festivities! Including Santa's Grotto, the ice rink, the giant snow globe and a Ferris wheel new for 2023.

We welcomed multi Cabaret acts to Bishop Auckland. We had a mixture of comedy, music and also some that merged the two.
One of the acts, Nana Funk, was so popular that we invited her back to host our Big Christmas Quiz at Christmas Town!
On the last Friday of every month March-October
We teamed up with Bridge Creative to bring you the Street Food Markets. This included various traders offering different cuisines and treats, along with live entertainment.

A journey of discovery and memories of the town and its people. Free exhibitions: walking tours, family activities, vintage cars, guest speakers, displays, and a whole host of local partners and organisations who brought our heritage to life!

Attracting 17,000 people with Christmas Joy, our Grotto, Markets, Ice Rink, performances, workshops and entertainment were a roaring success in 2022.

Our Halloween events included a giant troll & animatronic spider stomping around the Marketplace and a spooky piece of theatre with Tales from a Haunted Bookshop!

Simon belongs to the most toxic, self-destructive (and annoying!) demographic there is: the white gay! Simon had a catchy song for just about everything wrong with the community he loves to hate!
2nd - 4th June 2022
In June we produced a Jubilee party and picnic with live entertainment, lighting of the beacon, and traditional games accompanied by afternoon teas, a vintage car show and fair ground rides.

30th April - 1st May 2022
Our entertainment festival with something for everyone began with cabaret, music, theatre, comedy and family shows. Our headliner was Paul Sinha who received a standing ovation.

Christmas Town began in 2021 and despite challenges, it received incredible feedback making it an endeavour we had to bring back for 2022!
